[edit] IntroCallPilot has the capability to send users an email notification to the arrival of a new message. Nortel calls this capability Remote Text Notification (RTN). The email sent by CallPilot does not contain an attachment with the new message in .wav, .vbk or .pdf (fax) format. [edit] Overview
[edit] Step-by-step[edit] Log into CallPilot ManagerThese instruction assume you have administrative rights to CallPilot.
[edit] Enable Remote Text Notification for the Mailbox ClassIf you wish to enable RTN for a specific user or group of users, you must enable RTN for the mailbox class to which those users belong.
[edit] Create a Notification Device Class
[edit] Specifiy an Outbound Email ServerThe Nortel CallPilot documentation available directly from CallPilot Manager lead me to believe the outbound email server is configured under Messaging > External Email Servers. RTN did not work until I specified the outbound email server name and domain under Messaging > Message Delivery Configuration. It is possible that you need to add the email server in both places. Anyone know?
[edit] Configure a User for Remote Text NotificationThis configuration task can be left to the user via their MyCallPilot page. To configure this from CallPilot Manager go to Users > User Search. Locate the user you wish to configure and access their settings. |
