Overview

Numbering Plan Area or NPA codes are the usual North American Numbering Plan area codes in a Nortel PBX.

PBX Programming Procedures

Create a New NPA

Use this procedure to create a new NPA.

  • Log into the PBX
  • Load Overlay 90
  • Execute the NEW command
  • Enter the Customer Number
  • Enter AC1 or AC2 as the TRAN
  • Enter NPA as the TYPE
  • Enter the new NPA to add
  • Enter the corresponding RLI
  • Enter any SDRR information
  • Enter any ITEI information
  • Enter a Carriage Return at the last NPA prompt to save the addition

Example 1

>LD 90
REQ  NEW
CUST 0
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1
TYPE NPA

NPA  1876
RLI  0
SDRR <-- carriage return
ITEI <--carriage return

NPA  <-- carriage return or enter another new NPA

REQ  

Print Existing NPA(s)

  • Log into the PBX
  • Load Overlay 90
  • Execute the PRT command
  • Enter the correct Customer Number
  • Enter NET as the FEAT
  • Enter AC1 or AC2 as the TRAN
  • Enter NPA as the TYPE
  • Enter a specific NPA code or hit carriage return for a list of all NPA codes

Example 2

REQ: PRT
CUST 0
FEAT NET
TRAN AC1 <-- AC2 may also be used
TYPE NPA

NPA  1201 <-- enter specific NPA here or hit carriage return to print all NPA

NPA  1201
RLI  0 
DENY 976

SDRR DENY CODES = 1 
ITEI NONE
