The Option 11C is a Nortel "Small System" PBX.

Processor

The Option 11C uses the NTDK20 Small System Controller.

Architecture

The Option 11C platform uses NTAK11 and NTAK12 cabinets for housing cards.

The Option 11C can have up to a total of 5 cabinets (when using fiber or ethernet expansion), each cabinet having 10 card slots for peripheral equipment.

Expansion Cabinets

Copper Expansion Cabinet

The original expansion cabinet for the Option 11 system was the NTAK12 cabinet. Using a copper expansion, the system is limited to two total cabinets (one main, one expansion)

Fiber And Ethernet Expansion Cabinet

When fiber or ethernet expansions are used, the NTAK11 cabinet (identical to the main cabinet) is used for expansions. With fiber and ethernet, the total number of cabinets in the system becomes 5.

Fiber expansions require a Fiber Receiver card in slot 0 of the NTAK11 Expansion Cabinet Ethernet expansions require an NTDK20 SSC card in slot 0 of the NTAK11 Expansion Cabinet
