From PBX Wiki

BARS stands for Basic Alternate Route Selection.

Contents

Access Codes

BARS is accessed by dialing a one- or two-digit access code (AC1), as defined in the ESN datablock, followed by the desired number.

Network Translations

This section contains information that most likely should have its own page.
If you wish to create the "Network Translations" page, please click the link and begin editing.
Once the Network Translations page has been created, this section should house a link to the new page.

Thank you.

Once the user has accessed BARS by dialing the access code, Network Translations will be reviewed to find a match to the dialed number.

Route Lists

Once BARS finds a match to the number, it will look at the assigned Route List, if an assignment exists, to check the caller's access level with the required access level of each Route in the list. Once a match is made, the call will be placed. If a match cannot be made for any reason, then the caller will receive a reorder tone.
