Nice article (kinda long) at PhonePlusMag.com on the current state of affairs with hosted IP PBX services. Discusses how some resellers are making the delivery model work. Also touches on the impact (or potential impact) of Level 3 Communications getting out of the hosted PBX business (full pullout/service shutdown effective 15 June).

http://www.phoneplusmag.com/articles/531resell01.html

There are frustrations and challenges for sellers and customers alike. But it appears some have some decent ideas to make things work for everyone.

God Bless,
Michael Lemm

Hey Michael,

What do you think is the reason for the hesitation or delayed adoption to a hosted PBX service?

To over simplify.....fear of the unknown. Just an opinion of course.

Maybe there's a lack of confidence because of the "techie" nature.....vice "hardware" basis.

Plus....there's still some questions about security with anything "VoIP" related.

And....there's always the money factor....cost of conversion.

No real answer...1 size fits all reason. Probably some combination of above.
