The first thing would be to advise on what PBX specifically and moreover what your ultimate goal is with respect to your project. Usually you will have a standard 9-pin or 25-pin RS-232 connection that will communicate in either a terminal interface or a printer port. For you qwik-ref, here are the pinouts for your convenience. *note these are for direct PC to modem connections and the 'null' versions to these are the reversals at one end for PC to PC type communications; [TxD-RxD | DTR-DSR | RTS-CTS] 9pin RS232: 1=CD 2=TxD 3=RxD 4=DTR 5=SG 6=DSR 7=RTS 8=CTS 9=RI 25-pin 2=TxD 3=RxD 4=RTS 5=CTS 6=DTR 7=SG 8=CD 20=DSR 22=RI Please update your post with a few more specifics, if you may. I hope this helps you moving forward.

It is a simple chinese manufactured and there is no specific model, however I have got the user manual and the diagrams. If possible can i send u the diagrams so that u may guide me better for the connectivity. Actually i am doing this as a final project. the purpose of this connectivity is to get the call details and store them in a database Kindly guide me further.

Location: Kitchener, Ontario Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Mitel IP Phones After careful review it appears your TC 2000A DOES NOT have this capability embedded into the unit. You have no option but to use an external logging device and this is capable by obtaining an external line interface device. If you go to eBay and search on "mitel smart dial" you will discover many 1 to 4 line units available. You will want ones with "chaining" if you have more than 4 lines. IF you have 4 or less then you should choose one that has as many or more. With this unit you can connect a standard 25-pin to 9-pin modem cable to your PC. By configuring this unit correctly, you can have every call placed and/or received through the device printed over this rs-232 port. You will need to run a terminal session and enable text capturing. I recommend Procomm Plus from symantec.com. With a little ingenuity you can ensure automated startup/capture/ and auto-logging of the rs-232 data stream from the Mitel Smart-1 Dialer. I hope this helps and happy hunting.
