Rep Power: 39 ![]() | Pin Outs Well actually that is exactly what I want to do what I told you 1) I want to have the capability for someone to call in an order to office and/or leave a message. 2) I want to verify the telephone number and data for authenticity of actual number (telephone) to ensure it is vendor with accurate information 3) I want to have data automatically inserted to the database. that is it. low call volume of about 50 vendors Order details would be on order of 300 chars max or somewhere around there. Could be slightly adjusted to optimize equipment I guess.

Is it a Voice message, keypad inputs, fax, emulator or some other form of data? Vendor calls in and after being verified, Does: Voice Message - Vendor calls in and leave a voice recording, Keypad inputs - Vendor selects prompts by pressing key pad on phone, Fax - Vendor Faxes in a Request or other form, Emulator - Vendor dials in and inputs data with a Shell or Script that you've written. Authenication: You can authenicate in two ways -- Authenicate by CLID (The number dialing in). If the caller is in your script the call is accepted, if not the call is refused or given an announcement. or Authenicate by CODE. The caller enters a pass-code that authenicates him/her as a valid vendor. Prompting: After the call is authenicated, the caller is then given a series of prompts. Example: Press 1 to place an order, Press 2 to track an order, Press 3 to cancel an order, Press 4 to leave a fax, Press 5 to create a new account, etc. Each 'press' routes the caller to a 'child' mailbox where more prompts can in included or the vendor can leave a voice message. Database Management: The IVR and database can work together to verify codes, account numbers, providetime/date stamps, etc. MS Access is an unusal request for a Call Database. Call Back or email response: Your response system will be another application that pulls data from the database to generate responses. Just make sure that the databases you choose are compliant. Having said all that - there are a number of 'boxed' systems that might meet most of your needs, but not one that does everything you want. Do a search for IVR systems on the internet, Checkout Altigen's systems, Checkout this list of systems (contains most systems on the market today). http://nortel.pbxinfo.com/index.php?...play&ceid= 26 Chas2002 __________________ Free Preview of my fictional book: "Chaos Theorem": http://www.lulu.com/content/249842. Location: pittsburgh Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Looking for dealer for a very good Call Accounting System well I was interested in this for time being. Anyhow, I went to that site and I can see it is going to take a bit of research to understand about this equipment. It will take another week at least I guess to start tracking each of these packages and their features. Off hand do konw of any particular suystems that I could consider to start my search? I guess the VoIP and PBX are the features I am interested in. You mentioned the web and got me thinking. Doesnt the phone come over the web too now? Is there a name for that technology specifically for that type of service or is VoIP "voice over Internet Protocol" what that stands for?

Rep Power: 39 ![]() | What you need: 30 - 60 port IVR.(depending on traffic volume) A small PABX 1 PRI Your IVR vendor will program all the data interaction and storage, give them your spec and let them worry about all that. It should not matter what kind of database the IVR uses because you can link your own Access database using ODBC function. Again your IVR vendor should set this up for you. However, the IVR is capable of producing all types off reports either automatically on a schedueled basis or adhoc so you should not have to have an external database. The PABX is used for the switching.
