Rep Power: 39 ![]() | "KICK" METER Hey guys ... In response to the review about Cisco, I honestly do not know why anyone would even want to look at a solution so complicated. I have used the QTelNet equipment in many situations where customers are fed up with Cisco and are looking for something to add on to their existing PBX without having to forklift everything. The setup is simple all through a web based config. Once you have it set up there is no more messing with it even on a DHCP connection as it tracks the IP address changes. I used to work with Multitech but their set up is too long and to do firmware updates you have to be on the cloients site. With QTelNet I can do the firmware updates remotely through their FTP server. The other part that is good is their IP phones. They have a phone (ip1301) that allows one line os PSTN and one line OF VoIP. My clients have loved this feature so far as they can toss the second phone they used to have for VoIP. Well thats my opinion .. anyone else have any?

Rep Power: 39 ![]() | QTELNET ANNOUNCES ITS NEWEST PRODUCT, QTELNET CONNECT VoIP Soft Switch Provides Local and Long Distance Service on a Billable or Prepaid Calling Card Basis QTelNet is pleased to introduce QTelNet Connect, a VoIP Soft Switch which provides calling card solutions, on a billable or prepaid basis, for cable companies, ISP's, Wireless ISP's and other small and medium size VoIP carriers. It is compatible with all of QTelNet's FreeRide devices and is the first in the planned expansion of our Internet telephony product line. The system runs under Windows 2000TM Solaris TM or Linux. QTelNet Connect is a very scaleable system that starts with an entry level that supports 24 simultaneous VoIP conversations and hundreds of users, and can be scaled up to an unlimited configuration that supports over 1,000 simultaneous conversations, with many levels in between. When used as a prepaid calling card solution, QTelNet Connect automatically generates PIN numbers so that calling cards can be issued. A standard feature, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) for in bound card users allows the carrier to use the pin numbers to enable prompts in different languages. This lets the carrier customize the system for international long distance service. A typical setup for most customers in North America is English on outbound international calls and some other language, based upon country location, on inbound international calls. When used in the billing mode, QTelNet Connect produces a Call Detail Record for billing. The customer also has the option of using one of the many commercial billing packages available. QTelNet Connect is a completely distributed system where the carrier can put gateway controllers anywhere in the world and locate the Call Manager in their offices, maintaining centralized control of the user database - more - and the Call Manager system. The gateway controllers support SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and H.323 call management protocols. QTelNet connect will translate between SIP devices and H.323 devices thus allowing the carrier to address the widest possible customer base including those customers who already have a non FreeRide VoIP device in place. QTelNet Connect works with QTelNet's FreeRide gateways and PC based soft clients behind firewalls, Network address translators, on Virtual Private Networks (VPN's) and with private or public IP addresses. It may also access bulk VoIP carriers and use wholesale VoIP trunks to implement inbound or outbound services for resale. QTelNet, a leading provider of VoIP products since 1999, is a wholly owned subsidiary of QSound Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSND), a major provider of audio solutions based in Calgary Alberta Canada. For more information about QTelNet, its products and solutions contact us via phone at 403-291-2492 or by email at info@qtelnet.com or visit our Web site at www.qtelnet.com

Location: Dallas, Texas Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | THE DOCTORS VISIT My response would be who is Qtelnet? I mean, everyone has heard of Cisco but isu Qtelnet new to the market? Cisco has had about 8 years of Trial and error with thier VOIP systems as Qtelnet is now announcing thier first VoIP Switch? " I honestly do not know why anyone would even want to look at a solution so complicated."- I think its because phones are mission critical, and as Telecom manager, your gambling a lot on a new comer to the market to provide a good product as well as good service. Personally the feature of having a Pstn line along with a VOIP line sounds cool but when it comes down to it, I don't think I would trust any companies smaller then the Cisco's, Nortel's and Avaya's of the industry with my businesses mission critical communications. We have over 1000 people in our company of which I work at the hq's. So I hear if from all the high ups when things are not working. That is just my opinion, I have never used Qtelnets products but answering your question as a telecom manager, that would be my hold up. -Rick C.

Rep Power: 39 ![]() | Telecom Product Specialist - Calgary, Alberta (Canada) QTelNet is a sub company of QSound Labs (www.qsound.com) who has been in the sound industry for 20 years. As a reseller I can testify to the quality and easy of setup. The only way you are going to know who they are and the reliabilty is to try some out for yourself, that is what I did after I heard good things. They dont seem to be out there to compete with Cisco or Nortel but to fit in the medium sized solution where there is no need to forklift to add VoIP. Hope this helps.
