Location: TX Rep Power: 3 ![]() | If I am not mistaken, Cisco is the one that brought H323 to the forefront. Other VOIP system manufacturers have invested in SIP. I've been testing a few products with SIP and I have to say its a lot easier to configure end devices. I've seen the Nortel use H323 and I can tell you it was pretty confusing. I think Cisco and Nortel do that for a reason... They dont want just everyone able to configure these without their certifications.. | ||||||||

Location: TX Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Tadiran uses a new IP phone that can use the MGCP protocol or the SIP protocol. You can upgrade the phone thru a TFTP server for either MGCP or SIP. Pretty versital. If you think about though, how many actual features do the common phone system user actually use? Not many, with that being said it is almost economical to go SIP, unless there is something that the full featured IP sets do that is a total must for the end user... | ||||||||
