I have not used it, yet. I have read about it and it seems as though it could be a viable solution. It appears to have many features as standard where most others solutions will provide these same features as purchhased seats. It will be interesting to see their market share in the nexte couple of years.

Shoretel

We install both Shoretel and Avaya. The Shoretel system is awesome. If you want a system that works and is easy to use, Shoretel is what you want. I never get called on on Shoretel issues. Customers love their Shoretel systems and I love to install them.
Previously I was a die hard Avaya person. Shoretel is the first system I have found that is superior to Avaya.

shortel - good ;)

thanks for the reply...you seem very familiar with fone tek... I'm sys admin... I come from opensource sip/voip background so Vendor hardware pbx solutions are kind of new to me the service is great from russell comm but we have had a few issues..not really sure what the root is.

its seem ro be pretty error proof...considering the system will still work inbound/outbout if the server crashes, we just loose call attendant features...

any ideas on how we can build redundancy into our current config?
current is MPLS network T1's to 27 locations shortel switch

Do you have to have voicemail server at every local?
and we may run backhaul DSL to CO.

The issue we were having was a sync issue...the shortel server was booting faster than the switch... switch must be up and ready to synch with the server.. cheers
