Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I've got a Vodavi XTScIP and would liek to know anything about music on hold that anyone can tell me....all I know right now is that there are 2 wires going in from a stand alone CD player, and lousy sounding music on hold.....the CD player has been ruled out... Thanks! Mark

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | The basics are: 1) Check for impedance- it probably needs to be around 600 ohms. 2) Check line type. Typically a telephone switch wants to see a balanced source. 3) Check level. Overdriven audio (too loud) is one of the most common causes of 'bad sound'. __________________ Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're still here we may as well dance.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | CD players commonly have "RCA" style audio output jacks- small, circular devices with a center pin for 'hot' and the outside shield shell for 'ground'. Your PBX may require two equally balanced lines for audio- neither side grounded. You can get a small isolation transformer at Radio Shack or anywhere equivalent that will make that conversion for you for a couple of bucks if that turns out to be the issue. Check the other stuff first. __________________ Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're still here we may as well dance.
