the meaning of Life explained

Help!, I 'm little (okay alot) rusty concerning the Toshiba product of the last decade having focused primarily on Nortel for the last 10 ten years, but I started my venture about 7 months ago and I have a customer that has a DK 280 with what I believe is a Stratagy Voicemail system, I have the Stratagy manuals, but the question I have has to do mailbox administration.

I appears that I need some software called "Stratagy Remote Software", I think the system is a Stratagy 24, but I'm not 100% sure, in the manual it says the 24 has a monitor and keyboard, however this unit does not have either attached.

Can anyone help me out with answers and possibly software?

Thank's
Mike

Have you hooked up the monitor and keyboard to see if they work?
The Stratagy 24 can be programmed remotely but you need a modem attached to the PC. Its alot easier to program right on the PC. Look on the back of the PC what color is the key attached to the LPT port? You may be able to read the type on the key itself.
If it is a 6, 16 or 24 you should be able to use the monitor and keyboard. If it is a 4 or 4 lite you will need software on your laptop to connect to the PC for programming.

Help!!! With Toshiba Stratagy Voicemail

Question 1: Does the Voice Mail system reside in a slot in the cabinet???
Question 2: Does the Voice Mail system have a seperate PC???

I mostly have experience with the Flash VM system. If the vm sits in a slot you need the admin software and a laptop, getting the software may be kinda hard. Search for toshiba dealers in Telecom Gear magazine, you might be able to get tech support but it will cost ya. Try Colorado Telephone Exchange, they are 'shiba dealers.

Keep me posted, Mitch Taylor

11c and PCMCIA Card

Mike
Look at the Key on the back of the PC attached to the LPT Port. What color is it? It may have type of voicemail on it.
Also I have the software to program the 4 lite and 6 lite. The others 4,6,16,24 use monitor and keyboard.

Option 11 backup or EDD to pcmcia?

I've been struggling with a 4 lite....the video card went out in it, so I replaced it with a vga card, with a connector that works with real monitors....the 4 don't have a floppy so I installed one to be able to copy files on and off. I've not been able to get a connection with my laptop. I have the "remote" software I run on a laptop in dos mode. At the "phone number" prompt, I enter remote /n/f. The screen clears, the cursor is at the top left of the screen and it just sits there. Any key input gets no reponse. I disconnect the serial cable, and the laptop displays "disconnecting from the remote system." I work on other PC based Stratagys and "in-skins" as well and have no problem connecting. I did check the ".cfg" file to make sure I knew the password....any ideas? I even tried a modem and got the same results. Don't let the 4 lite fool you. When it boots up, it don't get a main screen on it, it just does "Scanning Voice Files" and "Scanning Mailboxes" "Done" then it's ready to answer calls. It never clears it's screen after running it's start-up routine so it looks like its stopped, but its ready to answer calls. You have to access it with another computer, eg. laptop, to get into the voice mail set up on it.

Blogging Section Back Online!

You will need to connect to the 25 pin "COM #2 is the default admin port on the 4, 6, etc."
a DB 9 to 25 adaptor with gender changer will work

If Im not mistaken you should be able to use the remote software and connect to the com port on the back. More than likely it will be 2N software. if you need this remote software PM.
