CTX670 Boss/Secretary setup - PBX Info :: Your Free PBX, PABX and Telephone Information Resource

Does anyone know the proper way to set up a boss/secretary setup where calls to the boss go to his line and his secretary's line simultaneously. The secretary needs to be able to answer the call and announce the call to her boss. The secretary should then be able to transfer the call to the boss, the boss's voice mail, or pick the call back up. The system is a CTX670 with emanager 5.10A07. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Setup a multiple call group for his calls and have his extension and her extension in it. have her phone ring and when she picks it up, she can send it to his extension on his phone.

The tricky thing is voicemail. Have the Multiple call group VMID set to his extension on the phone so when it forwards to voicemail it will go into his mailbox and light the proper lamp.

I would set the boss phone up with a phantom dn this solves all vmid codes leaves extension open for sec to transfer to and several other options if you need more help with this email me a phone number where I can contact you

Phantom DN's can be used but its the "old" way of doing things. I would try to get away from using phantom DN's and use the new way of programming. The way Toshiba recommends it to be done now.

Its the old way of doing things but it gives you more flexabilty. I also know Mcg's have other limitations. I find with the Phantoms I can do voice announce if I choose to not to mentions external call fowarding on the fly and so forth

True with voice announce. I however was looking at his particular question. number ringing on two extensions and the secretary being able to transfer to the boss. She would still be able to voice announce to him using his main intercom button...
