for my sins i have been given a job to sort some programming on a dk40,
i have the system records book and the system admin guide .
questions:
1,how do you get into programming mode ?
2, are there standard default passwords as i have been given none.
3, am i correct in assuming extn 10 is the programming terminal ?

go easy on me i am more of a cable monkey than a systems programmer .

If you have the system record sheets, the instructions are in there. You can program from any station on a DK40, with no passwords
