Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Our company has a CTX100 system with about 40 LCD phones. I've been assigned to find a way to have music/advertising play when our customers are on hold. I was assigned this yesterday and have been doing a lot of searching online to find manuals and guides to walk me through this. I know nothing about our system, nor does anyone else around here. We will be using an MP3 player to serve our music/ads. There is currently an audio jack that is dangling from the CTX100. I plugged this into the MP3 player (playing music) and checked for on-hold music - all I heard was silence (like usual). This leads me to believe that some programing needs to be done to our system to enable input from the MP3 player. I found a programming manual for the system, but it's all very confusing. We don't have the eManager or CTX WinAdmin software, so I could use some direction in finding one of those programs. Are there any kind souls out there that would be willing to help me out with this? I've been reading through the forums and you all seem to know so much! Thanks in advance!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Update Just a quick update. Going through the user manual I found the section "Background Music" that talks about 16 different music sources... "You can set background music over your telephone speaker or over external speakers. Up to 16 different music sources can be applied to the Strata CIX/CTX system: the first source is Quiet Tone, all others can be music or recorded information. "To enable background music on your telephone speaker: - Press BGM. LED turns on. .. or press an extension button + #490 + n + #, where 'n' is the music source 1-15. Does this make sense to anyone? If I press an extension button, it just automatically calls that person. So I picked up my handset and pressed "#4901#" and my LCD says "DKT Background Music On" but I don't hear anything. I have the MP3 player hooked up to the CTX100 and when I call the office and am put on hold, I still hear nothing. Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Location: TX Rep Power: 3 ![]() | On the ctx100 there should be two jacks in the front of the processor, one is for the PAGE and the other is for Music, make sure you are plugged into the correct port. By default the background music should be on. I also think in COS 1 you can turn the music on and off. I'll check my manuals and see if there are any other ways of turning it on and off.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks for your reply. I was able to get a hold of a copy of eManager, so I'm going to try that out today to see if MOH is enabled. There are actually 3 jacks on the front of our CTX100. We have a cable plugged into the page jack. The MP3 player is plugged into the jack that says MOH1. I still don't hear any music while on hold. The other jack says MOH2 and I've tried that as well. Still, nothing. What is COS1? I look forward to your reply - thanks again for your help.
