Location: Preston, Lancashire Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi there: I am an end user and have a Strata DK system with 2 lines, 5 DK handsets and an extention card connected to 3 regular handsets. My children have come to an age where phoning their friends is about to put me into the poor house. I would be eternally gratefull if someone could explain how to prevent them from calling high cost numbers such as mobile numbers (these always start with "07" in the UK), "0906" numbers (high rate calls in the UK) and 118 numbers (these are information lines in the UK). I am sure this seems to be an easy problem for those familiar with this system but I do not have any reference material or any formal training in this area of expertise. I do know that my main handset is capable of programing the Strata but I do not know the sequence of keys necessary to manage this. If someone can help then I would be forever grateful. Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Erm, well, first of all, you need to have a Toshiba programming manual. And seeing this is a household, I am guessing you are using Strata DK8. This is because you need to know the key sequence to program the system. On the other hand, you might need to locate a Toshiba service tech around your area. Try them first as this would save you a lot of to and fro communications in the email or ICQ. Anyway, the programs you will need to use would be: Program 46 to generate those toll restriction numbers Program 48 to assign the toll restriction to the phones

Location: Preston, Lancashire Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The facts are: I owned a business and decided to work from home so the phone system was transfered to my home, it is a STRATA DK. The people who installed the system gave me a "Toshiba Technical Manual" and I have isolated the programing area within this manual but when I attempt to use the "flow chart instructions" within the manual they do not work. I suspect that the firmware has been upgraded and the actual key presses are now different than those printed within the manual. Since the system was installed my situation has changed, somewhat. I was attacked at my place of work and badly injured. As a result of this I now have various physical problems, including heart problems, that necessitated surgical intervention. This has, ultimately, resulted in the loss of my business, and therefore, my main means of support. It is not that I am attempting to undermine the local "telephone installation league" or diminish their yearly turnover it is just that I can no longer afford to employ anyone to re-program the system for me. But I am sure that with help I can accomplish this myself; before my children make me completely bankrupt. Therefore any help would be appreciated. Thanks Brian.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Not to mean any offense but what I meant was, you need someone to help guide you in programming the Toshiba. Any wrong buttons pressed could mean endless nights backtracking the step while your kids are still, yakking away. But if you do not mind, can you tell me what is the DK model that is printed on the Toshiba main unit? Any words starting with DKT20XX would not help much at this point. Then we'll go from here, OK?
