Station Move on DK 280

Hi I just started as the network engineer at my company. I was asked to do a station move for one of our users who changed departments. I found a manual for our system and figured it would be better to do it through the phone system vs. physically moving his wires on the punch down block. I used program 04 to make the change.

Here is what I did.
the user to be moved was extension 237 on logical and physical port 054.
blank cubicle he was moving to was extension 133 on logical and physical port 013.
I changed extension 133 to 700 on logical/physical port 013. I did this mainly to test and see if I was using the right program. Well it worked as far as I could tell. It was now ringing and dialing as extension 700(non used).
I then proceeded to use program 04 to map extension 237 to logical/physical port 013.
Then I mapped extension 133 to logical/physical port 054.

Extension 237 works now for all except his voicemail. After 3 rings it forwards onto voicemail but the voicemail says "Invalid subscriber extension". His extension stayed the same. Today we tried to delete and recreate his voicemail and it is still giving the same error.

We use PhoneXpress voicemail by AVT corporation I believe.

One other thing, it may be unrelated since it has had no effect, but in the documentation we have I noticed some stuff for program 33 (Owner Telephone Assignment). Port 054 had a PhDN of 533. I used program 33 to change that PhDN to port 013.

I would appreciate any insight to this problem. It is probably something simple I can't see or think of.

Thanks,

you will have to program the #656 91 237 and #657 92 237 on his phone. that will tell the phone system what digits to send to voicemail..

Re: Station Move on DK280

Will that also fix it for people dialing in to his extension when it kicks over to voice mail? And what program would I use. I am sorry I am new to the Toshiba PBX.

thank you!

tried and failed

I tried the above suggestion from his phone and the result is the same. Invalid Subscriber when it forwards onto voice mail. Any other suggestions?

thank you!

I found a solution.

First off, to answer your question regarding the voice mail system; we use PhoneXpress. I believe it is by AVT Corporation.

I also found out during my search for an answer that the voice mail for the user I was trying to move was somehow still attached to his old location. I had moved moved his extension via program 04 to his new location and the extension that was at his new location to his old location. For instance extension 237 was swapping with extension 133. After that was done and both phone working on proper extensions the voice mail was not working for ext. 237. The mailbox was still active in the system but when it rang through to the VM system it said "Invalid Subscriber". Extension 133 rang through to VM for ext. 237!

I was able to find an Admin guide for the DK280 on the internet. In it it detailed out how to easily move stations. I then proceeded to reverse the system programming I had done to get where I was at. So that put the station extensions back in their original locations and the proper VM was working at that point.

The DK 280 has a feature called Automatic Relocation and Relocation by Special Dial. I used the latter. It worked perfectly and flawlessly. VM and station extensions moved together. If anyone needs the Admin guide I found it on the wedophones website.

I want to thank you for your assistance as I was at my wits end there for a moment!

That is exactly why we NEVER let the customer use Station Relocation programming. You would have saved yourself alot of time and headaches by just switching the jumper wires on the backboard.

Now that you have switched the logical ports on the stations, PLEASE write it down. What you have done makes for very messy programming in the future! Believe me , this is the voice of experience!!

Good Luck!
