Minuet

I would remove all the daisy-chains and start toning from the d-mark and find the first location, then from there find the next location...and so on. If you can't tone the black/yellow from the d-mark to the basement then it's not spliced at one of the locations in your house. Another possibility is that there's a distribution block some where in your house. Check the attic, basement, closets, and garage. I moved a second phone line for a guy at work and what I thought would take 10 min ended up taking an hour because of a hidden 66 Block under the house.

Did I read this write? You have four phone lines from the Telco? If you’re toning the black/yellow pair there is only one other pair left, green/red. You must have more than one cable coming from the house to the d-mark, which means there is no way for one cable to be daisy-chained throughout your house.

You say you have 4 lines, does that mean you have 4 phone numbers?

Menu creation issues.. CP2.0

catching up on some light reading here and see where you have been offered assistance
with your wiring.
I'm not to sure I would take them up on it, they probably will drill straight through all the walls and run the wires around the ouside of the house.

home wiring - Star or not start

Hi,

It seems that my original posting never made it here.

The wiring in my house is a combination of daisy chain and direct runs. The house has a flat roof so no attick. Running new cables is extremely difficult.

To reply to a previous posting, yes there are 4 phone numbers in the house.

Send a message via MSN to thor_axx
tranfer directly to vmail

You might want to check the attic for any runs as well as the basement.
