Afternoon all.

Afraid I've nothing to do with phone systems but I was hoping to pick somebody’s brain over a problem I have. I'm part of a legal team who has been given a box of floppy disks, as evidence, marked "telephone backup" and dated between 1998 and 1999. All the files have the format 15488.clz, 15489.clz............etc. I've been hunting all over Google to try and find what a clz file is, but with little luck.

Would anybody know what sort of system this came from and what, if anything, I could use to read the files to see if there’s any information of interest on them.

Thanks in advance

I won't take a stab at knowing what a clz file is. That said, if these are from a site and were used to backup the phone system, then they are proprietary to that brand of system and software. I know of no way to open the files and see what is in them. Even if you did, most of what you would see would either be in binary, hexidecimal, or octal code. Beside that, it would only be the info in the system, ie; stations, trunks, etc.

Thanks for that Ramjet. I was guessing that's what your answer would be and theyd be nothing of interest on the disks for me.

One more job out of the way
