Articles on PBX security?

Hi, I'm new to PBX and I need some advice/assistance. The dummy PC we were using to manage the PBX died and we had to install a new one. I was able to connect the hyperterminal successfully and make changes to the PBX. However, when I try to "AX" into Meridian Mail the view is not right and I can't read the options. How do I fix this?

What pbx do you have?

Are you using it as a dial up connection or a direct connect?

Check your port settings.

also look into procomm plus, its is a lot better and easier to use then hyperterminal. just my $02

Welcome to the site(s)...

I have Centigram VM, so I haven't messed around with MerMail in a while - but do recall it uses the F1-12 keys to select actionable items and that's an issue with Hyperterminal.

I've seen this post a couple of times on the nortel portal. Try posting your question there..

RE:

YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE TERMINAL TYPE TO VT100, VT320 THEN YOU MAY HAVE SOME TROUBLE WITH THE F5 KEY

I heard that VT102 was a Nortel standard? I used that for most of my log in's to pbx and voicemails and it seemed to work good. Does anyone know what Nortel recommends? Or do we just use what works for us.
