| Hi there. I'm in a small company with 3 partners. We have 3 lines but are currently only using two (we have a set of Siemens 8825 phones) but I really really want to add an auto-attendant and auto call distribution. I got a quote from a contractor who proposed installing a NORSTAR 308 with a NORSTAR voicemail system. It came out to about $3500 with installation. A bit more than we were expecting! I'm looking at a catalog with a Circle Communications 3-line system with most of the same features for $650. Should I get it? ANY help or advice would be appreciated! I know almost nothing about phones. THANKS! | ||||||||

Rep Power: 39 ![]() | connecting Hipath 4300 to GSM gateway As a rule of thumb you get what you pay for. I always ask a person looking for a dirt cheap system, what do you do if the system breaks? How long do you think you can stay in business if your customers cannot get it touch with you? If you lease a system like that it should cost as little as 69.00 per month. It's a small price to pay for a quality phone system. I'll get several people mad at me but the only two systems worth looking at are Avaya and Nortel, the rest just do not have the proven track records that they have. I can get you an Avaya quote if you are interested.

Rep Power: 39 ![]() | Anyone using one? Newbie, Novice, all of the above. I was handed the project. We currently have four lines, plus call waiting, using 6 extensions. In the near future we will be moving to a new facility and expanding. Here are my questions: 1) What advantage does PBX have over directly connected multiple lines? 2) Is there anything out there good to read that explains this stuff? 3) Most of what I have seen is 4 or 8 lines. Can these expand from 4 - 6 - 8, or is it just one or the other? Thanks for educating the consciously incompetent!
