Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Wireless mini-PBX for Long Range communication-E1-compatible And again some product information for you guys! ECCOM Basis Intelligent GSM Gateway allows small companies to save on cellular air-time charge when calling from mobile phone to fixed phone. BASIS provides fixed telephone line facility on GSM basis to remote areas where PSTN telephone line can't be laid. It supports mini-PBX that allows to provide standard office communication to remote company branches At the same time BASIS provides some additional intelligent functions as remote control of some objects ( like air condition, climate control, micro oven etc) and security systems. www.rcs.kiev.ua www.gsm-ec.com or contact me for details: nataly_rcs@yahoo.com

I have setup a few of them setup at the Hospital I work for and have saved them at least $20K a year on fixed to mobile calls. There are other manufaturers as well, you just have to find one that suits your application and a supplier near you. Just do a search for GSM modems/Interfaces http://www.hightech-store.com/gsmfctgermany.htm http://www.hightechnologyintl.com/cellinterface.html http://www.nokia.com/downloads/solut..._datasheet.pdf

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Siemens Section for Downloads There are actually MANY different fixed cellular terminals manufactured in the world, and all of them differ in some specific features: for example, ECCOM BASIS performs both mobile-fixed and fixed-mobile routing, connects to CO or extension line of mini-PBX, but also it may controll several electric devices in your home( while you are at work), or receive information from sensors ( you will always know when someone got into your house, or fire alarm etc).

Location: Sydney, Australia Rep Power: 6 ![]() | The Usual rules apply no using of a Mobile phone in the Hospital. There are alot of areas staff are allowed to use mobiles, but the Public is definately discouraged from using their mobile phones this is usually because they can go into areas where it may be more critical not to have them causing interferance and just being distracting/disturbing to other patients and Doctors. We are only using the devices for LCR and nothing else. I am actually using the Psitek devices, but I am not saying they are best. They work for us and work well. I would actually prefer a 19" rack mount unit, tidier and easier to maintain, but the cost of these did not allow us to do it at the time we started this project. I have two hospital sites (One campus) one Public and one Private they both have the devices installed. I am using two different mobile (GSM) carriers to gain the maximum cost savings from LCR. (some carriers are cheaper calling other multiple carriers). All of the devices are installed in areas that are seperate to any medical equipment. One lot is setup next to one of the PABXs and the other lot is setup in a comms room attached to a Data Centre, the devices cause 'no' more interference than a normal mobile phone. You can actually double the cost savings I have mentioned above because that was for one site only.

Actually, why FCT is better to use in the hospital than a regular cell phone - it's because you can install FCT in some place that would be far enough not to interfere with hospital equipment, and connect office ( hospital) mini-PBX to the ECCOM BASIS: now you can have communication via cellphone channel using standard desk-top phone ( and RF part will be placed in remote place that would not impact hospital electric devices).
