I've found a good "catch all" seems to be "Analyst".

It's not as "I'm fully educated in all things about building out a PBX" as Engineer implies; not as "I can do the bare basics, make it through the day and maybe a few other things that can help" sounding as Administrator (no offense, but really, most of the Admins I've known can only do the basics)....
Analyst seems to imply that if you don't already know how to do it, your ready and willing to learn...

But that's just me.
:P

My current job title is Communications Analyst.
They wanted to change it to Voice Specialist, which doesn't really encompass everything I do. So I am sticking with Comms Analyst.

I have been commonly refered to as the Site Telecommunications Engineer, but officially I am the System Responsible Engineer - Telecommunications or Technical Engineer - Telecommunications.

I have asked for a title change due to my primary duties being in regards to telephones:

Lord of the Rings

PhoneDude, I even have a theme song (apologies to "Lord of the Dance"):

LORD OF THE RINGS

I ring in the morning when the work was begun
I ring on the desk, the wall and on the run
I ring down from Nortel and I rang on Earth
At Global Knowledge I had my birth

Chorus:
Ring then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Rings, said He
And I'll connect you all, wherever you may be
And I'll connect you all with the rings, said He

I rang for the CEO and the Manager of IT
They would not ring; they would not budget me
So I rang for the operators, for clerks and peons
They rang for me and the rings went on

Chorus

I rang on the Sabbath and I cured the INI
The IT managers said I still did not enough try
So they whipped, they stripped, they hung me high
And they left my career on the cross to die

Chorus

I rang on a Friday, when the switch turned black
Its hard to ring with water leaking all over the racks
Oh they downsized my ass, they thought I'd gone
But I and the rings still go on

Chorus

They cut me down, but then I got hired on high
I am the dialtone that will never, never die
Now I'll live in your office if you'll pay my fee
I am the Lord of the Rings, said he

Chorus

Quasimodo ??

Um...Twist....that's the normal way of writing out a lyric list...the CHORUS just shows where you instert the chorus again between stanzas.

OK. Those were some great titles. I really like the Lord of the Rings. Well my title is currently Telecommunications Specialist. I have ten sites five with Opt 11c and the rest Avayas and Mitel. I am responsible for all telecom including cell phones, billing, maintenance of switches, installation of new ones, cabling, contracts, and the budget. So based on the job what title would you think is best? Oh and I am a one man shop. So besides dumb a@@ for taking on all this what is a good title? Thanks again for all your feedback. Oh and SD is it possible to purchase the CD your song is on?
Thanks,
dude
