hi
i have seen that in many offices they provide a single number for incoming calls ,and i have found that this number never becomes busy.i want to know that what actually happens there.do they tranfer the incoming call to another no. and make the no. free to recieve another call. how this happens?

getting to MM from terminal

What happens is there is a trunk group made up of multiple lines or channels and every time a call comes into that number it looks to see which line or channel is available for the next call.

you are not giving enough information to answer the question. do you have a isdn or pots? isdn, like the guy said above that when the call comes in the co looks to see which channel is open. pots you can do this by trunk to trunk transfer. which would leave that trunk available for incoming calls

Call Queues just ringing when all agents are logged out

There is no accurate explaination for this, It depends on how the PBX was set to recieve calls, There are many different solutions on how to recieve calls.
