Call forwarding question for the pros...

I've searched the forums here and found a few very grand solutions, but I am limited in my budget and how much time I can spend on the problem.

We need a way to forward an incoming call to another number. We do have several phone lines coming into our home office, but no complicated PBX or anything, just a bunch of 2-line phones with different numbers.

It seems like there should be some kind of phone out there that has the ability to forward a call from one incoming line OUT the other line to an outside number, but I can't find one. I realize that would tie up both phone lines, but I can't stress enough that I need a SIMPLE and FAST solution.

Or maybe even a simple 2-line mini PBX PCI card controllable within Windows, that would be nice. I've seen some of the "skype gateway" PCI cards, but they don't seem to have the functionality I'm looking for.

Any suggestions? I appreciate it.

P.S. Fantastic forums here with tons of great information, I'm really glad I found it! I'll probably set up a little Linux Asterix system for my own home eventually when I have time and this forum will be a great source for me then.

Why don't you just have the phone company put a forwarding feature on the number you want to forward? It can be controlled by dialing a feature code on the line to turn on and off.

Most small soho systems allow you to do this, I know Talkswitch does, even an open source solution such as asterisk or trixbox will allow you to do this.

Also a hosted service would elminate the need for that, it would call all the places you are, .i.e. cell phone, office, etc... and it would do announcements, and calling scripts... just a suggestion, let us know what you came up with.

I do an arrangement with my business line that forwards it to a VoIP line. The VoiP lets me ring the VoIP line and another device, in this case my cell phone. I can change that number from anywhere from the inernet.

It's the price of a second phone line, about $25 and the dual call forwarding arrangement, about another $8 a month.

We have customers with Panasonic phone systems that let us dial a 3 digit number and send it back out on a second line. It can be directed via you setting group call forward or the voice mail system dialing the 3 digit group.
