Question Vista

I received a free copy of Windows Vista Home Premium (I'm still actually not sure why), and i was wondering if it is even worth it to install it. Does any one have it? Does it run well?

Depends on what you use your computer for. I can't get Netstumbler to work and I have yet to find hypertrm.

Vista is crap.

You may also want to go to Microsoft's site, I believe there is a download there to run on your computer to make sure all your hardware is compatible with it. Run that before you install or you may run into trouble..

Good Luck!

I've found someone here running Vista with only 1 gig of memory, he gets by with it but I'd be recommending a minimum of 2 gig if you're expecting to be able to do anything worthwhile with your machine after install!

came pre-loaded on my notebook. 1Gb too little memory but makes due for what I use it for (for now). Took a little bit to get used to the interface and I don't like having to give permission all the time when updating software even though it probably makes things a little more secure.

Would not be my first choice to install on any system right now.
