Need to know what is the distance to connect these two item so we could monitor the Sl-100 from a distance of 2 miles....thanks

Well, if you have EIU' that are connected, you should be able to telnet in providing you have network access at both locations. If you have an older IOC with 1X67 cards, you can configure them for current loop as opposed to EIA RS232. I believe that will work over the 2 miles. Or, you can always use RS232 with both IOC or IOM's and short haul modems (shm's are current loop devices), If I remember right the Black Box SHM-B's are good for 4 miles. I do not recall distance limitations on the OAU. I'll have to see if I can dig something up on it. You can always connect your Min, Maj, Crit alarm scan points to a device that will detect the alarm and send a trap or page you etc.. Check out ION networks for some devices, or for a cheap solution AlphaMax makes a great little box for monitoring/reporting.
