Have one at home, setup it up and played with a little bit and then needed the computer for something else.

Looked pretty cool from the stuff I saw, I need to find a work reason to play with it more though.

With friends like these.....

I have it setup on my desk and have played around with it. When I get time I am going to try to integrate it with our 1000m via H323. It seems to have lots of features for a open source project.

First real snow of the year

We have 2 set up and are using coordinated dialing between them. We have 3 extensions from our 81C set up on one of them so that we can test some of the SIP phones in our offices.

That's pretty much what I had in mind trying. There are several little things I would do if the two play nicely together.

Using a modem or did you get hold of some type line card?

I never had trunks setup on it, I fired it up and played with calling between my laptop and desktop and then had to snag the PC.

If you set one up read the install instructions carefully... I didn't read them and wasted a few hours.

We are using a 4 port card(3fx0/1fxs) and playing (testing various SIP phones). I have 1 2500 set and multiple SIP phones working.

There is a module (unistim) to allow a i2004 to work but I have not been able to get it to play nice. I can make calls but can't be called.

Transfer CDN's to a certain script

Below is my response from a similar post in another UserGroup.

With Asterisk you need to look deep into their name particularly you need to emphasise the last four characters R-I-S-K.

Open source is a novel concept...it's been around for a very long time. The main reason open source box's and applications have not found their way into enterprises as often as a CFO would like to see, is because the CIO understands that he would need an army of high saleried Engineers to support, and write code for something that can easily be purchased pardon the pun "off the shelf" from a manufacture such as Nortel or Microsoft.

When you add up all the costs "supposing you attach a $$ value to your end-users frustration" that expensive Nortel solution does not look all that expensive after all.

Most organizations need to witness it for themselves first-hand as opposed to learning from the mistakes of others.
