Rep Power: 0 ![]() | BFS key Ringing and the Boss. I realize that I have drifted in on a bunch of highly intelligent people - I wonder if one of them might also be compassionate and tell me how to use my telephone. I bought a phone from the auction at samsclub.com thinking (or not thinking) a phone is a phone. I received this phone (MT-1015) FSK/DTMF system and callerID. Two IP dialed modes, long distance call reply or dial "0" will automatically dial IP number. Optional 0 or 9 in long-distance call reply. Music on hold. I don't know what this phone does or how to program it. Will you help?

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Music in Queue No, it's a corded phone. I'm assuming that mobile is the opposite of a corded phone. It came with instructions on a 3" square of cheap paper written in Chimerican. I enlarged it on the scanner but was yet unable to decipher it because of the technical references. Why does the instructions provide me with an IP number? What is auto IP? What's flash time? And Pause Time? And spy prevention? I found FSK and DTMF somewhere on the net and read that they mean Frequency Shift Keying and Dual Tone Multi Frequency, respectively. That doesn't help me at all. Know that I appreciate your help much.

If you plug this phone into a known working jack, at your house, do you get dial tone? Several of the things you mentioned will almost certainly be fine at their default settings (you change nothing) including flash time, pause time and any DTMF settings. I'm very curious as to the IP address they gave you. Publicly routable IP address' don't just float around for free. Music on hold is sef explanatory. Auto Ip is sort of a mushy, could mean alot of things phrase. Anyway, let us know if you get dial tone and we'll take it from there.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Deleting Voice Mail thru the Switch Yes, I get a dial tone. At first when I picked uo the phone, I heard a recording saying I wasn't authorized to use this phone. All 4 phones in the house said this. After turning the spy off, the phones had dial tones. This is confusing:" Pressing 0 over 2 seconds will activate Auto IP functions and pressing 0 over 2 seconds again will turn off the function. The default setting is Auto IP, and the IP number is 17909. When pre-dialing or dialing back a number beginning with 0 while auto IP function is on, the set IP number in Auto IP will be added automactically added to the front of the telephone number. If press IP key instead of redial key before predial or dial back a number, the set IP number will be added in the front of the telephone number." I quoted it correctly-it's just written that way. I gave $45. for this thing. I would certainly like to find one made in the U.S.A. I think Siemans makes onr here. pressing 0 over 2 seconds

First let's back up again, what do you want to use this phone for, what "special functions" do you want/expect this thing to do. I'm with you, that explanation that was given left my head spinning. The "IP" number they gave you almost sounds like a long distance carrier access code the way they were talking about adding it on to the number, but I don't think it's the right amount of digits. It's not an IP number (address) like I'm used to working with (format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ie 192.168.1.50). An internet address. If you want to post back I'll give it one more shot.
