Some people when they use their headset are being told by customers that they cannot be heard, I have tried ajusting the volume but it just seems to turn up what they are hearing, not what they are saying.

any anyone help? I have tried different headsets (brand-new or old, doesnt seem to make any difference)

Phone system is Meridian by the way.

Thanks

If this is only happening on headsets tehn it would help to know the type of headset we are talking about. Are these operators on consoles? Are the headsets wired or wireless? Users might have activated the mute function on the headsets inadvertently - on some sets it stays active and isn't obvious regardless of whether you have terminated the call. They also might have the headset switch set to 'handset' - on some systems that will still send audio to the headset but the headset mike is muted because the handset is live. Check the wiring. I have had users meddle with the connection to the set and cause the same results you describe. Best of luck!

Well the phone are just standard Meridian 2616 handsets with Plantronics headsets, (all hard-wired to the phone) Have tried the older type and the new N/C headsets, nothing seems to help. I was wondering of there a way to ajust the volume that your voice is sent at. Is there any way to check to see if the headset is muted?

Thanks

Gus

On the amp, which I assume is an M-12 or M-10, there is a compartment on the side next to the battery access cover. If you slide this off, you will see a small white outgoing volume control. There is a white screwdriver attatched to the back of the unit for adjusting your volume. Clockwise to increase.

Am I logged in or not???

It's a Meridian Option 11 the phone Model number is M3826. Not all of the users are having this issue so I don't want to make a global change if possible.

30f9 is talking about the model number to the amplifier for the headset, not the model number for the phone. And that is right, there is a cover that slides off the side next to the battery compartment, if I remember correctly, it should be set to 4 or 5 to work with the 2616 and there is a small volume adjustment just to the right of that.

OR, the batteries may need changing!

Good Luck!

The headset plugs directly into the phone, there are no covers on the headset itself and no batteries

You have wired a Plantronics headset directly to the phone in place of the handset? You can't do that. There must also be a Plantronics device (either wired or wireless) that goes in between. No wonder the callers can't hear your people - those tiny Plantronic headset microphones are not compatible with the handset microphones. They need the adapter amplifier.

No, I didnt say that. The headset is designed to plug directly into the HEADSET socket in the bottom of the phone, there are 3 sockets in fact, line in, handset and headset. Un-like the old type of headset where there was a box that the headset went into with a volume and mute controls on these new type of headsets plug directly into the bottom of the phone.
