Smile Tadiran ICE & Coral systems?

Anyone installing very many of the Tadiran ICE or Coral systems? Care to share any of your findings good and bad about these systems? Strong points and weak points? Anything you have found that can benefit other technicians who are installing these two systems? We have recently become dealers for this product and would greatly appreciate any and all input, feedback or findings so we might save ourselves a few steps while out in the field.

Not ideas too small or unappreciated here!!

Thanks,
ThePhoneLady!!

Tadiran is a great product....

Hello there,

I have been dealing with Tadiran since 1996.... I can tell you it is probably the most versatile system on the market. It is considered open architecture meaning what ever you want to do it can do. Some of the "new" technicians feel it is not easy to program but since I basically grew up using a command line type interface it is a breeze for me. If my company could only sell one product it would be the Tadiran. The price for most of the equipment is pretty much industry matched as well. If you have more specific questions on the Tadiran please feel free to email me.

Hello Bygcland,

Thanks for your feedback about Tadiran. I am hoping our numbers increase for customers with Tadiran, and hope that your technicians start to become more comfortable with their products. I do know we have had some irregularities with their ICE system and the inskin voice mail and also with the use of their cordless keyset phones. Hopefully those problems will smooth out soon.

I will post here anytime I find something and do appreciate your insight so maybe it won't be as much of a struggle getting comfortable with these products.

Thanks,
ThePhoneLady!!

I can honestly say their ICE product needs some work. The newer version that has come out as of late is better and more stable. I had one customer I was visiting almost every week with the first version. I also know what you mean about the inskin voicemail. We have had some issues with the UCMC but with WICMC has been pretty good. I will be at the Tech Summit in New York at the end of this month. Were you planning on attending or sending someone there for your company?

No, unfortunately I am also travelling for a customers installation at that time so will miss the conference. Have fun and let me know if they provide anything new or interesting about their systems.

Thanks,

I'm in Saint louis and have been installing the tadiran systenms for about twenty years. The first three systems I installed were coral 3s one with 14 t1s and 200 stations, one with 200 stations and three t1s, and the first one was a collage with 1400 phones and several spans. All three switchs are still working and have been upgraded to vers 14.xx. When we first started with this product I was the only one around that new anyting about them. Its now is our largest selling product and we have six techs trained on the product. Untill the US headquaters moved to Long Island I never had a problem getting support, in New york the responce time is much longer but you normally receive good support. I have traveled to a couple of new Tadiran vendors in the Midwest to oversee their first Tadiran cut for tadiran and have seen that look in their eyes. At first the flexabilty is scarey but once you dive in and get wet its wonderful. When you call support try to get a english speaking support tech the first few times.
