GOing to try it out

I plan on using this instead of Asterisk just to test it out but the version of Ubuntu I have doesn't seem to support it yet. It does asterisk but I am very curious to see how this sets up and works.

Anyone know where I can find bells and whistles for it?

Rick, do you have a download source for an iso of sipX? I would like to simply load a CD and boot to install the correct Linux dist, plus sipX. I have heard too many horror stories from some friends who tried loading linux, and then Asterisk seperately. I am not at all handy with Linux. If I am reading right this sipxpbx will work with your Vonage account. Is that your understanding also?
Bob

You can download the latest stable 3.2, beta 3.4, and alpha 3.5 at http://sipfoundry.org. Not all of the builds are currently available for each distribution. I had the most luck using Fedora 4 or 5.

Bob, I haven't checked yet to see if SIPX has an ISO.

I decided to use Trixbox as it finally did work. I haven't had a chance to play with sipx yet. I need another computer or 2.

My wife doesn't like it that I have the phone system in the dinning room .
But oh well...
When I get a spare computer and some spare minutes I want to try out sipx and 3cx another free PC pbx.

My wife would probably love it if I shipped you one of mine. She doesn't understand why I have so many computers, and phones iset up n our spare room. They are for research! Too bad I never find the time to actually perform the "research".
