Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I have connected to the RS232 port of our newly (ebay) acquired PhoneMail with HyperTerm (9600 8-N-1). I see some output but it eventually just halts without ever prompting for login. Here is a snipet: ================================================ Now Booting the DSP ... Hitting <cr> or any other key has no effect (won't even echo to the terminal). What am i missing? Can someone help me find the Install & Admin Guide for PhoneMail? Thanks in advance. Btw: the model is HiCom Office Phonemail Model VOY180045B per the sticker on the back. Edit: I have the Phonemail hooked up to a OfficeCom 150E. I can log into the voicemail via the phone prompts. I don't know all the commands, but I have managed to "reset the database" and set the country code. Is there a command to enable the RS232 port to prompt for login? I have configured the pbx with the hunt groups and forwarding tables, and in fact when i dial an extenstion I see it forward to the phonemail, but the voice mail never picks up. Dialing the phonemail hunt group extension from the phone however, asks for the user login. What am I missing here? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to get this phonemail thing going and there is no help online anywhere. | ||||||||

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | PacketSaver™ Ok, here is what I found out. On this Phonemail model the RS232 is supposedly for factory technician. You can't (and really don't need to) login using that port. All the commands and setup are through the voice prompts. There is also a list of 19 steps you need to go through to configure the Hicom Pbx in addition to configuring the Phonemail. Basically, you'll need the manual. | ||||||||
