ROLM 8000 Fwd extension to Trunk

Hi all,
I am trying to forward an extension to a trunk. This trunk will be used to access Microsoft Exchange via a NET VX gateway. We currently have it set up with our 9005 PBX by building a soft extension forwarded to a system speed dial number which is a trunk access and a 4 digit extension. I need to know if this can be done using an 8000 PBX.
Thanks,
Micky

Yes it can; set soft ext then callfwd it with ATC or phone with COS allowing CSF #55xxxx9nxxxxxx; NO dialtone returns after the last digit..just hang up or enter #; I THINK the Sysspd will work only if the fwded number is a HuntGrp....make sure extn COS has access to trunk group.

For inbound calls, they can also be fwded IF CO trk, put a soft extn in the DED field of the trunk, then using the ATC or a phone with CSF, remote callfwd the softextn (which needs the correct COS!) to the outside number...the caller will hear ring, answer click and then second ring....Been there, done it!!

(My boss couldnt figure it out until he called it and my now exwife answered...got an attaboy for that ...especially after I set my boss that way so his mom in a different NPA could call him for free! We had two 8000s talking across T1 SAT Ops ties and both in different NPAs

If DID, merely CFWD the DID extn using CSF from ATC or phone with proper COS to outside number OR you can do it in DTRAN for the DID group..(caller will only hear ONE ring in this case) Problem is if the switch restarts or reloads, the fwding is lost and you have to reset it manually using CSF. DTRAN is not lost and continues to fwd ok but you have to redo the entire DTRAN table....or if you arent using it, you have to add entries...if the extn is 72yy, then you add entries for:
70->70
71->71
72xx->72xx (repeat for every 72xx extn except the one you need to fwd)
72yy->9xxxxxxx or #6xx (you can use system spd here I THINK)
73->73
etc for all other DID "groups"....ONE DID is translated? THEY ALL must be even if its to the SAME number...the 8000 is somewhat DUMB in this area..

ALSO the COS of the DID must allow access to the trunk group the call is going to...same thing with the DED soft extn in a CO trunk case (and the trunk to trunk must be allowed)

whew!! Its been over 10 years since I did that.......but still remember it
