Location: New Jesrey Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hoping someone knows the answer to this. I have a customer who I recently installed a Partner ACS R7 (5x9) replacing an old Partner Plus. With the old PM VS R3 everything worked great. The PM R3 died afetr 10 + years of faithful service. Installed a refurbn VS R5, compatibility issues with R5 and the ACS R7, (with Do Not Distrub), OK, so I replaced the VS R5 with a Partnmer Messaging R 1 with a 2 port card. Big problem, when calling into on a co line , all lines defined in the system answer and the callis transferred to ext 10. Tried the PM R1 in my "lab" system in the shop which is a ACS R6, same issues all 3 lines inthe system light up red as the voicemail has "answered". I had the vendore send me another PMR1 and same problem, Internally you can call it record greetinsg etc etc, I have 4 extensions setup in it and the hunt groups set correctly. Both the customers system as well as my lab system have the old sytle beigh Partner 5 slot carrier. I've heard that this old carrier may have compatibiity issues with the newer ACS R7 and vociemail. Anybody have any thought onthis? Thanks. ![]()

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Do you have the correct extensions in Hunt Group 7? VS Mail uses the LAST 2 ports of the card, while P.Msg uses the FIRST ports. Also, are you sure it's a 2 port card, not a 4 or 6 (or accidently mislabeled)? If so, and the ports are programmed for 2 but it is actually a 4 or 6, the "extra" ports are receiving calls that are not filtered through the system programming.

Things to keep in mind when figuring out which ports belong in Hunt Group #7.... (fone-tek pretty much covered them). 1) The R7 processor is a 5x9 configuration as opposed to a 3x8. 2) When you determine which of the 6 ports are being reserved by the voicemail module should be assigned to Hunt Group #7, remember that the PMVS starts with the last port and counts backwards. The Avaya Partner Messaging starts at the first port and counts forwards. Is the system just an R7 processor and a voicemail or are there other modules involved?
