That's true. An R3 configuration won't work on anything else other than another R3 processor.

Give the forum a little time. If nobody else chimes in, check out an Avaya Business Partner in your area.

fixed....

there were a few lines that were not assigned on the pbx under the hunt group option. enabled them to 1 assigned instead of 2 unassigned and now the message lights work.

By "lines that were not assigned on the pbx under the hunt group option" do you mean CO ports not assigned under #206 or extension ports under #505?

wow, i am way late on this, i forgot to check for more replies.

i am not an expert on this system, these are the directions i got from someone over the phone...

feature 00
left intercom button twice
#505
hunt group 7
Find the lines that the voicemail is on and set them to 1 to 'assign'

my problem was that my voicemail lines were set to 0 which i assume is 'not assigned'

even though i am late, i hope this helps. if anything, maybe print this out and use it for notes...???

Check the connections from the phone system to the Partner Mail, especially the 4th line cord, which is the port that turns the voice mail lights on and off. Make sure all the ports are taking calls by watching the lights on the side while you call 777 over and over.
