Red face programming buttons on 18D phones -- assistance wanted

I'm new to the Avaya phone world, and I'm trying to figure out how to program some 18D phones. It appears we have the Partner system, but I am having a lot of difficulty making changes, beyond the time that shows up on the phones.

The basic task I'm having trouble with is programming a phone so that it can see certain lines ringing. For example, when the personal line for extension 12 rings, the phone at extension 13 does not have a lighted button showing the call.

I have the Release 7 documentation, so if someone could point me to the right part of the manual, that would be great.

Thanks,

Pete

You're going to have to assign the same line that rings at Ext. 12 on Ext. 13. It doesn't have to ring, but it will light up when it is in use. If the person at Ext. 12 doesn't want Ext. 13 to actually call out on that line, you can also restrict the line from outbound calling, or even no access at Ext. 13.

First go to Ext. 12, press Feature 00, then press the private line. The display will show you which Line it is on the system. Feature 00 again to exit.

Then go to Ext. 10 or 11, and start with Feature 00. Press the Left Hand Intercom button Twice. Dial #301 for Line Assign. Dial 13 for Ext. 13. Dial the 2-digit line number that you found out earlier. Press 3 to assign it to Ext. 13, and then press the button of where you want it to appear on Ext. 13. If you don't want it to ring at 13, just show up, then press the Right hand Intercom button and dial 13, then press the button where you assigned the new line TWICE, until the light flutters and the display says Line XX No Ring.

You'll find these things under Line Assignment, Centralized Telephone Programming, and Line Restrictions.
