RE: pbx to pbx

We have a KX-TD1232c and I am trying to forward an extension to an outside line like a cell phone. Here is what I am doing:

Lift the handset or press SP-PHONE/MONITOR.
For PT: Press FWD/DND.
Dial 6.
Enter a line access code(9 or 81 through 8.
Dial the phone number.
Dial #.
Confirmation tone and dial tone
Hang up or press SP-PHONE/MONITOR.

All it does is when I transfer a call to the extension it rings at the phone and doesn't forward to my outside line. Is there something else I should have to do?

Thanks for any help,

Bill

avaya ip office 412 x 2 for sale mu-law new and boxed

I have done this and learned it may have something to do that I have centrex lines. What do I need to do differently. Now when I forward the line it will pickup a different line in my system and start to dial the outside number, but when I hang up the transferring phone it disconnects the other line that called the outside line. Does that make sense? If you have any tips for my I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Bill

Thats what I have been doing. I tried it with just one 9 and it obviously wouldn't dial out. I just don't know how to get the line that transfers the call to the extension apart from the line that connects the outside line and the incoming line.

no trs' are setup. I heard from other people that it could be because I have centrex lines. Any ideas on if I can do anything about that?

Thanks,

Bill
