TDA15 Setup

Hi,

I've posted a few times before concerning the setup of a KX-TDA15 and we are now finally in a position to move office and so looking at getting the lines and system installed. I am generally quite technically and technologically able and am hoping to setup the system myself but just wanted to run the practicality of the system past yourselves. It won't be anything complicated, a setup as follows:

2 ISDN2e lines (4 channels)
TDA-15 CCU
8 x KX-DT333 Handsets
8x Extension Expansion Card
Voicemail Card (KX-TDA3194)

7 of the handsets in call distribution group ringing simultaneously

1 handset that the call distribution group will be diverted to at night or on no reply etc for voicemail (so acts as voicemail for ICDG). This handset also needs to be accessible remotely through DISA so that calls to it can be forwarded to an external number.

Any opinions would be much appreciated.

TIA

every thing looks fine, except for fwd one extension to vm in a group will not work.
you need to set up a portable extension say 200 and set a password on it(1234)
put this extension in first position of icd group, set overflow no answer to vm 591 after 10 seconds, this will send the calls at night to mailbox 200 at night
to record out going message dial *47 200 1234 *381 record after the tone.
just set up a message waiting button for 200 on each phone that needs to see a message has come in, and pressing this when it lights will playback the messages.

to fwd to mobile you will have to use group fwd *71041 group 9 number #
You wont be able to do this through the disa, you would need a tvm 50 for that

Hi OBT, many thanks for the prompt reply. I'm a little confused regarding the night forwarding/voicemail though. I posted a little while ago about this and got the impression that the following setup would be possible, if my understanding is correct...

DDI for main incoming number (say 123) set to ICM in day mode; single extension (say 200) in night mode.
System can be put in night mode when leaving the office - calls on 123 will go to extension 200.
Extension 200 can be accessed remotely when working from home to divert calls to an external number or mobile (leaving system in night mode).

Hope that makes sense! Thanks agian.

P.S. I tried to include a link to my previous post regarding this but the forum won't let me but obviously is easy enough to find.

icm you mean a a icd group during the day ?why not just set ddi destination for 123 to ext 200 at night and set ext 200 to fwd back out on a trunk.

Don't have much isdn stuff out there and no bri so I don't want to scolded for wrong info but there may be echo and audio gain issues if you go in and back out on a c.o.?

it is posiable to have night ddi ring to ext 201 and then fwd it to vm or external.

I looked at the manaul carefully and you are right you can use fwd through the esmv card, this is posiable if walking class of service is allowed for ext 201. but be carefull with this and make sure the extension pin is secure. this is how most hackers come in to the system.

Many thanks for the replies, I just wanted to double check that what we need to with the system is achievable before taking the plunge and ordering it.

From peoples' experience how simple is this setup likely to be? I presume the CCU comes with all the necessary manuals, PC operators software etc... ?

Over here none of the manuals or software come with the systems you have to be a dealer
to reg and turn on the system .If I were you i'dd call the wholesale company and ask these question so you don't get caught with your pants down!
as far as your specs a trained tech could set it up in mins!!

No manuals, pc software, you have to get it from your dealer, they may want you to do a course to get the software, it is meant to be trained panasonic installers only.

as for how easy, every thing is easy when you know how. I am not being smart, if you don't know the terminology, it will be hard even with the manuals.

it will work out of the box, but very basic. ext 20 will ring and you can dial out. to set it up properly you will have to prog the ddi table to a group in day and to ext 20 at night for what you want to do, you will have to set up the icd group for the 7 extensions, set up buttons for night service, allow night service to be turned on by ext in cos. an experienced installed would set it all up in about 30-60 min depends on what else is to be set up like names etc
