PT phone together w/ a DECT cordless phone

Hey Guys,

I need your help badly. Can a PT phone and dect cordless phone share the same line using a standard splitter? This is so that both of them share the same local number. Is other ways do this? The main objective really is to have a cordless extension of the local number other sides from the PT phone.

Thank you.

hi dex313

sorry we will need a bit more info
1. model of phone system (KXTA,KXTD,KXTDA,KXTDE,KXNCP)
2. model of PT
3.model of Portable (people often call a portable handset (Dect( but Dect dont have a cable to plug into a splitter))
but dependnt on what you have told us you can have a pt and a portable ring at same time when a call is ringing,(if you have a hybrid card)
let us know what you have.

Hi Peter,

What I use is just a basic pbx set-up. the main unit is a Panasonic KX-TES824BX. The PT phones are Panasonic KX-T77730, while the DECT phone is a Panasonic KX-TG7200BX. There are no hybrid cards connected to the main unit.

Although I must say that i bought the DECT cordless phone straight from the shelf of an electronic store. Here in the Philippines, Panasonic DECT phones are very hard to find. And I must admit that this is the first time I'm using a DECT cordless phone, as the Philippine is use to using the standard analog cordless phones.

Cheers

Dexter

You see much better with the info
yes that system is equipped with analogue ports so you can use a portable and a pt onthe same port.but it needs to be switched on in programming.
Enter programming mode
go to 000
use fwd/dnd button
scrole up to parrell mode
press sp phone button
enter last 2digits on extension you are connecting the portable to
use auto answer mute button to change to connect
press store button

that should do it
