Question Regarding kx-td1232

Hi there,

Questions:
1. When I press program*#1234 as the the default password for the sys programming, it does not continue. It goes back to the operation mode. What seems to be the problem?
otherwise, if I press program**1234 it enters the user programming mode. I have tried to press program*#123456 and it returns error tones.

thanks,

eyes

the password has being changed. the main programming password is always changed by the engineer, as people post the default passwords on line, making the system unsecured against hackers

Follow up questions:

1. So you mean to say that if the main password has changed, it is no longer in 4 digits it would go through 5,6,7 or something?

2. How can I use only one direct line phones connected to co 1-8 as the default line or pilot line? If our customers call us, they can only dial to that one co number connecting all departments.

3. How can I record voice message?

4. How can I set only 1 co number to forward to our voice message? and how can I add another co to forward to our voice message?

5. Or how can I limit the outside call. I mean if the user dial 9, the pbx will only use the co 1-7. and lock the co 8 for outside call.

It's generally 4 digits. Are you sure you're trying this from the phone connected to jack 01?
By default here, Jack 01 is the master programming phone, and 04 is the Manager's phone. The manager can dial PROGRAM **1234 to get into programming and that one is seldom changed.

2. How can I use only one direct line phones connected to co 1-8 as the default line or pilot line? If our customers call us, they can only dial to that one co number connecting all departments.

??? You only publish one number and it's the pilot number. If customers are using the CID of the other lines to return calls, your telco may be able to set the extra line ID's to the pilot number, or, if an alternative company, you set call forward on the other lines to the pilot.

3. How can I record voice message?

Be more specific. Are you trying to record phone calls or voice mail?

4. How can I set only 1 co number to forward to our voice message? and how can I add another co to forward to our voice message?

See IRNA

5. Or how can I limit the outside call. I mean if the user dial 9, the pbx will only use the co 1-7. and lock the co 8 for outside call.

See Trunk Groups

>yes, i have checked the jack no. in [003] Extension Number Set where the main phone is connected. It is in Jack 01-1.

>Ok.

3. How can I record voice message?

>like when the customers called the pilot number, a voice message will be heard like welcome message.

4. How can I set only 1 co number to forward to our voice message? and how can I add another co to forward to our voice message?

See IRNA

>I have checked the [409-410] Intercept Extension

5. Or how can I limit the outside call. I mean if the user dial 9, the pbx will only use the co 1-7. and lock the co 8 for outside call.

>I have checked the outside line group assignment.

You can tell if the password has been changed if you go into manager progarm ie **1234 go to step 005 press redial change the port to another one for instance 05 press autodial/store hold then program see if you can get into system programming on port 5 if not then it has deffinately changed. Would it not be easier to default and program from scratch?

Do not default the system untill you have read all the docs for the td and tvs and you feel confident that you can reprogram the whole shooting match . You may consider getting the vendor back in to make changes and set the password to something you have control of .The only time as a vendor I have changed the stock password is when the customer got in and made a mess and was called to fix it or I was stiffed for payment so if that is the case then you better make nice!!

Thanks for all the reply. Well, for me it is hard just to read alone without proper training. I have read the docs and programming. But it is different when you apply it.
