Question Analogue Modems with PRI on KX-TD500

Can anyone help me?

I have a KX-TD500 (Ver2.5) with a PRI line. Whenever a power-failure occur or the PRI line drops and the system comes back on again, no analogue modems can be used. They either give connection errors or they are extremely slow. Even remote connection to the system's remote card is imposible. The system then needs to be reset, sometimes up to 20 times, before the modems will function normal again.

I did change the clock priority on the PRI card (external/internal) but no joy.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Tell your provider to open the bandwith on the pri so you can send faxes. What happens is they compress the data on the circuit down to 729 and you can't send faxes or modems throught 729 you need 711. Eventually there circuit opens up to 711. Let them know you can't send fax and they will fix it. Don't tell them anything else.

It sounds like you dont have a full pri and the system is programmed with access to all channels, when the power fails the system comes back up the modems using 9 to access a line is picking up a blank port. make sure all unused ports are told they are disconnected. the system will see if the channel is not avalable, but some times it takes a while after power up, best make sure the unused ports are programmed out.

Hi OBT

I can access and phone out on all 30 channels simultaneously without a problem. It is just the modems that are giving problems.

Hi OBT

Yes. If you put a phone on the modem extension you can ring out. Speech is not a problem, only data.

Sounds strange, do you reboot the modems

Maybe you should put a ups on the system

Try turning off the system and on and check modems
If they work ok try turning off the pri modem and back on and check modems
It might show what causes the problem when power fails
