KX-TD1232 page tone option?

Hello all, new to the forum, hope this is the place to ask this question.

We currently use a Panasonic KX-TD1232 phone system which is working well, however we have an unusual amount of calls resulting in many pages of people.

Using the 33* page all command on the handsets to announce or page individuals in the building works well but the problem is the "beep" or "confirmation tone" that is heard ringing throughout the building just prior to the voice announcment.

This constant "tone" in front of every page is very annoying us all day long to say the least.

BEEP! - Is there a way to turn off this "tone" function and just hear the voice? Or perhaps substitute it for some softer sound?

thank you for your help or advice

Paging tone

Yes you may disable it in additional programing section 990 area 02 field 16 remove confirmation tone 3 enter a 0 to turn off and a 1 to turn on but it also removes from other paging features such as TAFAS. Check your manual for other features affected.

Paging Tone

thanks adrenalin, we tried this change in section 990 area 02, turning field 16 to off did not remove the tone.

We also tried setting all the area 02 fields set to "0" (off). The page tone is still there.

Any other help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

hello sncsnc, thanks for the help, not sure I follow the advice though.

Page function using a c.o. sounds too easy if you can please explain the talk battery part or the steps we appreciate.

Cool

some P.A.'s like bogen have a 600 ohm co plug on them
plug and page! some key systems need a filtered 24 volt dc
power supply in series with the amp input to use a co key as a paging port

33* pages both internal and external
the fields in program 990 will turn off the tones on the internal paging, but you might have some type of external paging equipment that is inserting the tone.
troubleshoot by doing seperate paging for internal and external. without looking it up i think the code for internal is 330 and the code for external is either 340 or 320. good luck.
