Buying a new panasonic PBX system

Hi everyone ! i am looking into buying a panasonic PBX system. I got two offers for Panasonic KX-TEM824 and KX-TD1232 . I know the TD1232 can expand more, but i want to know if there are flaws or negative things to each system. Not sure which one is newer...
Any help would be great. My personal choice would be the KX-TD1232 just cause i can add more lines down the road.

thx

PS: I live in Costa Rica now and setting up the system in a new office here.

If you want expandability, look at a TDA-100. The TD system is no longer made and the "expandability" part will be pretty expensive. A TD tops out at 24 (or 32 with T-1) lines by 64 digital and 64 single line extensions if you can find the interlink card and the port expansion cards. Then, you'll find that 72xx/74xx phones are in very short supply. A TDA can grow to 96 ports, more with memory and hardware tricks, while the TA-TAW product is limited to 8 lines, the TDA product can have 12 lines on the TDA-50 to 64, I think on the 200.

As far as the phones, the price of a new 7633 phone is about $10 more than a new 7731 analog phone.

Wow. The reason it's called an 824 is that it has a capacity of EIGHT lines and TWENTY-FOUR extensions. It isn't very flexible. If expansion and features are what you're looking for, it isn't in that system.

My Ohio friends just bought a property in Costa Rica The trip charges might not make you happy, but I'm a certified TDA dealer and I'd be more than happy to service your system....in December LOL

If your salesman is pitching the TD as the latest and greatest and you need expansion beyond 8 lines and 24 phones, then find another dealer. I'm guessing that this one is not TDA certified.

Just a thought.

Thx Carl, i think i am going with the TD1232 just because it can expand more and i am assuming that the system is reliable that even if it is older at least it works well.

Please don't write back a year from now and mention that your dealer is robbing you on expansion parts.

i hope not because right now i only have these two options in Panasonic or else i will have to go with NEC and i rather go with Panasonic. Business here is a bit different Than US or Canada.
