TD 1232 dos software

hey there all.
i have heard there is a way to alter the DOS based maintenance console for the TD systems making it run faster on Windows machines.... All the clues i have is it's somewhere in 'Additional Information' (prog 990), and you have to change one or more of the bits.

Ive been thru them and couldn't find anything relating to this, Has anyone heard of this?? from my experience none of the Windows based programmators will work or are even slower than the dos ver. I'm using ver 5.02 (2001).

in my work i have to connect to alot of these systems via the remote modem, the speed this program runs at is PAINFULLY slow.....

What could possibly be in the additonal parameters that control the speed of the modem?

We use a PC connected to the serial port and remote access (logmein.com), along with phonelogger.

Works for me.

do you have a 196 or 197 in the ksu? the 196 tops out at 9600 baud
the 197 tops out at 33,600 baud

do you have to shut down logger whilst you are doing program changes?
If so is any smdr info lost once you fire logger back up or is it sitting in the ksu's buffer?

I thought the TD had a small buffer.

Only reason I say this is I had a reception phone with "check printer" in the display. Once reconnected, the system output lots of call records!

I personally never use the DOS based tool.

On site I just use keyset programming and remotely I use the windows based tool. I find the windows based tool to be very quick.

That's right.

There was no official UK windows versions - just 6 versions of the DOS based tools.

Panasonic UK, did however supply to some resellers version 1.08 of a windows tool (PPD1232). I always use this though there were supposed to be dtabase corruption issues if used on a double cab 1232 but I never seemed to have a problem with it (luckily!)

I am just the opposite my original laptop back when they were 5k US $
did not even booted into windows I'dd just fire it up and it had to auto exec batch files dg and pc dg was the dos e123a (what ever was the latest and greatest for what ever rev it was - nothing -1 -2 and thats all we had and when I actually sat through the school the -3 was just coming out and there was talk of a gui but it was vapor) and pc was procomm for
the tvp-100{looked like a 11D cabinet} and tvs 100 and if I had to do a dial up I used a old tin can multitech 1200/9600 works every time external
modem for an occasional dialup for my fleet of 10 at the time. when you
were done all you had to do was pull your power cord and programing cable off and slam the laptop back in its case and out the door life was good I'll make a bet that I can set still set up a 1232 with average requirements with voicemail faster then the gui and you can't forget
the secret screens that you don't get with gui I'll fly over with my 1232-6 a tvs 75 and Toughbook and you can do one of yours and I bet I finish first it' will be like a hotdog eating contest.....
