Question Do Not Disturb extension on KX-TD816

Hi,

I have a KX-TD816E. I have spent ages looking through the programming manual (I really have) but could not for the life of me find any information on how to disable incoming calls from CO line but still allow incoming calls from other extensions.

I have a suspicion it is command 603/604

As I do not have a system phone for programming I am using the KXTD-816/1232 Programmator software so any help on which option to use would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

yes program 603 and 604 for night and day
however you have to know how the incomming co call is being directed to the ext before you can stop it.!!
the program 603 +604 will only stop dil 1:n calls but wont stop ddi or group calls

and while on that subject i would also be wery using the Programmator software.can cause problems on the NR section of ringing setup

Hi,

I went to the extension properties for the one I want to switch DND on CO calls and went to the DIL properties (command 603/604). Set both day & night to CO - no rings but this has not worked. I even went to assign COS 8 to the extension and turned ON DND right (command 507) but this did not work either. Is there a specific sequence of commands I need to follow to make this work?

Many thanks

ok!! if you have set the ext to no ring then is is most likely that calls arrive as part of a group.have a look at the group members and remove the ext from them all

question?
what type of lines do you have? ( isdn, pri ) or (annalogue, pots )

when a call arrives on an outside line ,does how many exts ring and do they all start ringing together of do some of them start ringing after a number of rings

Hi Rivet,

I will take a look at the group memberships.

It is analogue.

It is difficult to know because only one extension is a pot phone, the others are dialogic cards which answer the calls on the first ring.

Many thanks.

I looked into the configuration through the programmator software (I do not have a system phone) and here is how it is currently configured (this is all default settings after I have reset the system to default) maybe this will help.

1) All extensions are part of EXG1
2) In the call hunting parameters, all EXG are disabled
3) All extensions are allocated to COS1

Many thanks

ok as you say ,you have reset the system to default in this the system uses Dil:1-N settings program 603 Day -604 Night.

i would suspect that you have not programed the second part of the extension (ie: 208-1) causing the analogue part of the ext to continue to ring.
if so while looking at the ext you dont wont want ringing with your software ext ie: (208 you will see the analogue xdp 208-1 or ext 308 directly below it. you would also have to set this to No Ring.
i would guess the the ext that is causing you problems is a SLT (single line phone ) or works in a simular fasion if so above will fix

let us know

Hi,

There is no extension 308, only 208 (BTW: it's extension 3 I am trying to set to DND). The programmator software thinks it's the 3rd extension pair 1 of wires which is digital I believe. I only have analogue phones. So I deleted all pre-assigned extensions (ext 201 to 20 and created new extensions 301 to 308 which are on pair 2 (analogue)

- I have also assigned 303 to EXG8 and COS8.
- DIL 1:N is set to 'no ring' both night & day (command 603, 604)

I am sorry but I am out of my depth here, I have very little knowledge of the Panasonic CCU.

I have a telephony service that should only be targeting internal calls, as the DND does not work the service can not be deployed at the moment.

All I am trying to achieve is stop the extension 303/203 from ringing whenever a call from the CO line is received.

Many thanks.

1st keep in mind that all ports on a kxtd system are fixed they cannot be deleted.
each system port has 2 ext ports built in
these 2 ports can have different numbers and by default port 3 (ext 203) is assigned as having port 3-1(203 digital ) and port 3-2 (303 annalogue)
however port 3-2 303 wont work independently unless xdp mode Prog 600 is switched on.
changing the port number on port 3-1 203 up to 303 will only cause the second part of the port to raise its ext number up 100 to 403 it doesnt delete it.
also by default all incomming (Dil 1-N settings)calls ring all system ports thus in your case port 3-1 and port 3-2 are set on the system as( I ) immedite.
if you have deleted part of the display i would defult the system again!!
leave everything as is. go to extension settings and switch on XDP on all extension(extra device port).if you are using digital handsets on site this change will not effect them,if using annalogue handsets this will raise there ext number by 100 ie ext 201 digital will have ext 301 as annalogue.
this will cause the annalogue ports to become visible in your software. then into ringing and set 303 (port 3-2 as NR.do same for any other annalogue you dont want ringing.

Note: Dont for get to save after you switch on xdp mode back out then re login

question? what version system software have you? it should have a round lable on the underside (says 3 up to 6 )

Hi Rivet,

I will try resetting the system then setting XDP on all extensions then setting 303/203 as NO RING. Hopefully this will work at last.

There is a green round label on the side, it has number 606055, could not find any other label elsewhere.

Many thanks.
