Sip extension in KxTDE with ADSL

Hi, good day. I´m read something about virtual slots in KxTDE but I have the follow question: Is it posible install a external SIP extension in KxTDE with ADSL? What I need to install it? (only ADSL, VPN or other things). Thanks for your help.

About SIP Extension

Before with KxNCS8100 you need a LAN to LAN connection (no NAT). Is it the same in the new KxTDE and SIP extensions?

Hi,

1) External SIP extn supported. Again, use VPN for connection path.

2) Virtual SIP Extn card to be configured in TDE. A DSP Card will be required for IP to TDM conversion.

However, I would suggest the following:-

1) Install Virtual proprietary IP Extn card and not use SIP. A DSP card is still required. Install NT3XX, NT265D or softphone as the endpoint, not SIP device.

2) VPN connection still required.

In my opinion for a few £'s more for the NT handset than the SIP handset, you will have full access to system features at the remote location.

You must also consider that SIP isn't a ratified standard so not every SIP endpoint will support the system features. I've tried a couple of SIP phones and had some that will let you hold calls but not transfer them. I would suggest you test your SIP phone before committing to install it on site.

Regards

Badger

External SIP

Thanks Badger.
Unfortunately I was thinking that with KxTDE this point (use VPN) would not be necessary because is SIP PBX. My doubt was explained, thanks.

Okay so Im the newbie here but from my understanding you are supposed to be able to Setup a SIP phone anywhere with out the Use of a VPN?

But from what your saying here Badger sounds as if that you will require a VPN? all the time
There was mention of SIP servers which would route everything back to the TDE through the use of Gate Keepers and routers and such
Weather or not it can be done I dont know , I to have done everything through the use of VPN
Although I have never sucessfuly connected an IP/ SIP phone back to the PBX/TDE on another site ie: hotel etc ive always had a router at the other end

has anyone done this if so what exactly are you doing?

lucky you in the USA you have to sell 100k's usd worth per 1/4
of all bts products to even be considered to sell the KX-TDE.Seems like Canada mexico eastern europe and parts of se asia you can go to the hardware store and pick a can of paint a pbx and a voicemail system
and they are the same blokes that come here and wonder why they can't get the thing to do what they want it too...
so I'll repeat to you call the yo-yo's that are selling and shipping
the tde to get your answers for you or call panasonic your self!
i could answer your question if i had the edocs which you clearly have
but i don't have so you may want to start reading.....

or better yet set the whole scenario up on the bench on your demo kit
without an vpn see if it works and then you can come back and post here and let us know and you'll be a hero.
