Are you referring to cpc timer? I'm not familiar with a "b" option for cpc.

Yes must use answering machine unfortunately.

so you can barge in or wire up the outjackon the answering machine to its own loop start c.o.port on switch so when answering machine is active you can barge in the way you barge into a line is to hit the lit light and press 3....

Problem resolved: Thanks to everyone who replied. Ans Mach. was originally directly on line 1 in front of switch and we were able to resolve issue by adjusting cpc timer. However we ended up putting Ans. Mach. behind switch which also worked fine.
