hacking problem

hi,

can anyone be able to help me find a way to prevent anyone hacking our pabx Panasonic KX-TA308, we have numerous occations that a caller call up our number and was able to guess (very easily) the console password, I have been changing password like every 20 minutes but they hackers were still able to work their way thru, we have already been billed so much already, and decided to ask the telecomms to disable our ndd/idd and reject any operator assisted long distance dialing, this particular model has only maximum of 4 digit password so it only have like a thousand combination, if anyone have any idea how to prevent an outside caller to access the console please let me know asap thank you very much and appreciate any help.

Check your manual section 3.3.2 System Programming
The DISA security code change section is there and the option to change the DISA security code length to anywhere between 4 and 10 digits.

Ensure that the other codes (there are 4 available) have been either disabled or set to another code as it may not just be the first code that your hacker is using!

I just set the DISA to normal/disabled it, before prior to that I tried setting up a security password for it, unfortunately all of our callers needs to know the access code otherwise all they get is a busy tone when they try to dial a local number, we don't have a receptionist to answer all incoming, so the DISA is our only option, is there a way to change the dial out number or prevent a caller to access the dial out number with DISA being active, or better yet is there a way to upgrade the module to keep it secure while having the DISA active? thanks for the help really appreciate it.

I don't get to play with DISA very much, but the DISA in the TA-824 has a couple of locks on it. If you set it WITH/AA, and assign destinations for 8 and 9, it prevents outside line access. We can adjust the number of digits (4-10) and turn off the DISA tone after security. Since the largest city in my custoer base is 280,000, it's hard to believe that a hacker is just waiting to get into my TA-308 system to do damage. You must live in a funny place.

I think there's in your Ext. PBX have set to "Call Forward to CO" if that Features not to USED, try to Disable.

set "security type" to Trunk, set "security Code" to 4 Digit.

Run "Hyper Terminal" to Know whats Activity in your System

ok
