KX-TES824 systems print out log calls from COM-port only.

All PBX Panasonic can give out SMDR from RS232 port only (Mike_K is right). Only KX-TDA can give out SMDR from USB with the help of CTI application. For example BLITZ TAPI SMDR and FoneVox support Wintariff.

Thumbs up cable

use a proper gendered db-9 cable and a null modem adapter
available in any computer store it works like a charm.
